Official Rank Structure

Rank structures have been used since the beginning of history.  Disciples of Gaming uses a rank structure for effective management, accountability and a means of operation among our members.  Each rank has a given responsibility and a symbol that reflects that responsibility.

Commander In Chief
The Commander in Chief oversees all activities and operations of Disciples of Gaming. Identified by the suffix "CD" meaning Chief Disciple.

General
Generals manage and maintain the DoG business and corporate activities (e.g. Academy, Store, Pro Agency, website, sponsorships etc.) and initiate major policy amendments and new policies for Disciples of Gaming in relation to the corporate activities and business activities. Each General is assigned a specific duty and responsibility.  They are identified by the suffix "HD" meaning Head Disciple and are collectively referred to as "The Cabinet".

Within the rank of General, there are three sub-ranks:

  1. Brigadier General
  2. Lieutenant General
  3. General

Colonel
Colonels approve new clan branches, ensure Majors and Commanders are active, facilitate use of DoG services among membership, assist Generals in company management and oversee all of DoG. Colonels manage all planning and implementation functions of each DoG game branch/community. Colonels are responsible for the management and daily operation of the webiste and forums. Colonels are identified by the suffix "SD" meaning Senior Disciple and are collectively referred to as “The Council”.

Within the rank of Colonel, there are two sub-ranks:

  1. Lieutenant Colonel: The Lt. Colonels are guided and overseen by the Colonel, and are directly  responsible for overseeing the game branches/communities within DoG in addition to overseeing all of DoG. Lt. Colonels oversee and interact with the Majors in each specific game branch/section of DoG in which they are appointed over.
  2. Colonel: Directly oversee and work in unison the Lt. Colonels in addition to overseeing all of DoG.

Major
Majors are directly responsible for overseeing their set of clans, and indirectly responsible for assisting other Majors in the administration of all DoG clans.  They make sure all clans have submitted squad lists, help train and eventually promote Commanders, offer guidance to Commanders who request or are in obvious need of it, approve DoG tags and members that are 16 years old, approve clan transfers, attend weekly Majors meeting. Majors are held accountable for the actions of their clans, and will be relieved of their oversight in cases where their clans suffer significant mismanagement.

Commander
Commanders manage and oversee their specific clan. They ensure balance and develop keen awareness of the tone of the clan, e.g. what is considered acceptable, how people are treated, what defines rank, when are people ready for promotion, need to be demoted or removed.  Commanders are the life-blood of the organization, and nearly every detail of maintaining the clan is within the bounds of their responsibility.

Lieutenant
Lieutenants work closely with Commanders in managing the daily operation of a clan. They are responsible for sending clan invites, organizing clan event, training members of all lower ranks, teaching proper recruiting techniques and using sharp discretion when recruiting new members.  Lieutenants also mediate conflict within clans, run efficient clan meetings, maintain order within clan and watch for rules infractions.

Master Sergeant
Master Sergeants assist with the training of lower-ranking members and the running of clan meetings.  They maintain control and watch for rules infractions and serious breaches of the code of conduct and have a strong facility with the recruiting speech.

Sergeant
Sergeants are familiar with recruiting speech and use it whenever possible, they lead squad meetings (where applicable) and manage squad activity.  They know how to recruit well and how to teach others to recruit well, help prepare Privates and Corporals for promotions and also participate in officers meetings with the Lieutenants and Commanders.

Corporal
Members begin to learn recruiting speech and standards at the rank of Corporal.  They are able to answer questions and concerns of Recruits and Privates, help guide Recruits through their recruiting period, assist Sergeants in running squads and squad meetings.

Private
Privates attend meetings, game with clan, know the rules and standards of their community. Privates are considered full members in DoG and enjoy all the rights and privileges thereof.
